Thank you for visiting this scanner web site. Whether you are local to Bloomington/Monroe County or are just visiting from elsewhere to listen, we're glad you're here.

The online scanners linked to from this site are different than a traditional police scanner. With these software defined radios (SDRs), it's possible to listen live or go back and listen to past transmissions (like a DVR). All of the scanner feeds listed here allow you to go back at least 7 days, and some of them much further.

I would like to take the time to publicly thank Bloominglabs for hosting some of our equipment and OpenMHz for hosting some of the scanner feeds. I'd also like to thank my friends who encouraged and supported me with my scanning hobby. You know who you are.

Be safe

It is never appropriate to visit an incident scene that you have heard about on the scanner just to see what's happening. This is extremely dangerous for both your safety and the safety of the emergency responders. Stay away! Let the professionals do their work, and don't interfere.

Be law-abiding citizens

Obey all laws and ordinances (we are not lawyers, and we cannot tell you what is or is not legal with regard to police scanners). Local, state, and federal law, along with Federal Communications Commission (FCC) rules and regulations, may prohibit certain acts or omissions when using an emergency services scanner

Be careful when sharing

At some point you may be tempted to share something you've heard on the scanner. Be cautious when reporting information. Be accurate, and don't make assumptions. Unfounded rumors can easily get started on social media, and we don't want to be the source.
